Your First Appointment
Your first appointment is really for you to get to know us and for us to meet you. Your completed medical history form gives us a good introduction to your dental and medical history. We will also listen to any special concerns or requirements you may have. We will take a full chart of your mouth including all teeth and fillings present. We will look at the health of your gums and supporting bone. To look at your bone and teeth we may take some digital radiographs (x-rays). We will carry out and record a full oral cancer screening examination which is repeated annually or sooner if necessary. After your appointment there is sometimes a lot of information to digest and so it is helpful for us to put all our findings and recommendations in a written report. This will include details of all the options discussed including those that were considered unsuitable, a comprehensive treatment plan and details of fees. There is no extra charge for our written reports following a new patient examination.
